I absolutely love this protein powder. I’m not a fan of Whey because it makes me feel nauseous and is a heavy drink for me, so someone recommended I try Vega Sport. I love the taste as well as how easy it is to mix it around with greens and fruits and other mixings. I find it easy to drink and I don’t find it disgusting at all. I don’t feel bloated or nauseous either. I’ve been using this protein powder for 7 months now and I have no plans in changing it! My favorites so far have been Berry and Mocha. Vanilla is a wonderful choice too. Usually, I use Vanilla when I plan to add cinnamon and peanut butter. Also, I use cashew milk to help create a creamy taste as well as have a bigger drink.
I’ve tried Vega with water too and haven’t had an issue with it, but I would recommend less water to the mix and add slightly until you get your preferred taste. Once I added too much water and was disappointed on how watery it became. Also, be careful with the powder. It is fine and tends to get on my hands and the jar often. So I add my mixes gently as to not waste so much powder.

I have been using this protein for nearly 8 years and it is magnificent! I’ve used it from everything from muscle building (works fast!) at the gym to supplementing my everyday diet because I am a vegetarian (17+ years). It has a colorful spectrum of nutrients essential to muscle/nerve/immune support. Great flavor and mixes easily with fruit, milk alternatives, water, etc. The powder is extra fine, so keep that in mind as you serve it or else you’ll look like you just powdered the room!
Protein typically needs other minerals and fats to increase it’s absorption and bio-availability, and Vega has thought of it all. The BCAAs help rebuild torn muscle fibers if you are using it after workouts. It’s the best, most well balanced, veggie protein I’ve found….and in 17+ years of finding protein supplements, this says a lot. They’ve clearly done the research on how protein works. It’s exciting to see the vegans have a win in creating healthier forms of protein.
4 Star: I left off a star because recently there have been many reports of arsenic being found in Vega’s protein. I wrote to the company recently to see if their supply had been tested, and they reassured me that it had been. There was an article as early as Feb. 2018 about arsenic being found in Vega, so not sure how resolved that issue is. With that being said, apple seeds and other whole foods have trace amounts of arsenic in them naturally, so I suggest looking at the bigger picture and “picking your poison.” Literally, eating an apple could also have the same effect, but the media seems to appreciate sensationalizing tiny facts that aren’t actual issues. Not sure how many products are 100% safe and pure now-a-days. If milk doesn’t have growth hormones and puss from milking, their containers might have BPA or other chemicals from shipping. Everything comes with a risk and, frankly, of all the big companies doing their best to take responsibility for their processes and care about their consumers, I still trust Vega. I will keep an eye on this story, but would still recommend their protein.

The best vegetarian (vegan) protein powder on the market! Been using this for years, but only after trying just about every other kind of vegetarian protein powder. Pretty much every other one is grainy and tastes like vitamins YUK! This one is creamy (vanilla) and also has a ton of protein, probiotics, and almost no carbs!
I add a tablespoon of peanut butter powder and it’s heavenly!
Gonna get the chocolate next, for the first time. I can only imagine it’ll taste even better than the vanilla, especially with added peanut butter powder!

This has a really distinct flavor to it. I did COUNTLESS hours of research on protein powders because I’m a breastfeeding mom to a daughter with a dairy allergy. If I have dairy, my daughter is throwing up 30 hours later. I ended up choosing a vegan protein because I was nervous about all the whey isolates even though “lactose free” they’re really just adding in the lactase enzyme. It’s great. Noticeable muscle tone and added weight. I’m 5’4 and was 113 lbs when beginning, about 1 month later I’m 118 lbs and my body is looking more athletic as desired. Personally the flavor and texture is much more enjoyable in a smoothie. I do 1 scoop chocolate protein, 2 TBs peanut butter powder, 3/4 cup almond milk, 3/4 cup water, and half a frozen banana. I look forward to it in the mornings after working out.

I hardly write reviews, but when i saw all the complaints about the metals I just have to say.,,, Stop it people!! For all of those on a plant based diet you should know that one of the first things you have to realize is that heavy metals are naturally present in soil and water which logically means there are going to be certain amounts of it in most fruits, vegetables and tap water . So let me say this, METALS ARE NOT ADDED TO PROTEIN POWDERS but they are absorbed from the soil by whatever plant source is being utilized to create the product,. Start doing your own research and you will discover what organization started this entire fear mongering about metals in plant based supplements and why they did so and if you want to continue to complain, then you might as well continue and stop eating, vegetables and fruit and a whole list of other foods that will take up to much space in this review . In closing, I experiment with different plant based brand protein powder supplements and this Vega is fantastic. Grainy or not grainy just depends on how you make it. Sweet or not sweet once again depends on how you mix it i.e with water or milk or fruit etc. I keep mine simple, about 85% water with a top off of Flaxseed milk. Absolutely delicious!!!!

These people fear mongering “heavy metals” should take the 30 seconds to study the subject. Those substances are in every plant you’ve ever eaten in your life, and because this product is made by people who respect your body, it has retained the minerals found naturally in the same plants. Further, that Clean Label study has been butchered by the scientific community as disingenuous for these same reasons.
Yes, this product has the most of those plant materials, because it is in fact the purest plant product. If you want Whey go get it.

I used to drink this one all the time until I saw all the hype about heavy metals, arsenic, etc…contained in it. Started exploring other options but could never find anything nearly as good tasting. I started doing research on the “heavy metals” topic and discovered that the amount that this product contains is no more than whatever fruits and vegetables are growing in the ground that you would eat (obviously it varies from area to area some). I have no concerns at all now and I am glad to be back with my favorite protein powder! And no, I do not work for Vega.

I read a lot of reviews saying that this powder is high in heavy metals and i almost didnt buy it. I did some research and found the study that everyone was seeing. The study did have the vega vanilla powder listed and they werent the only brand of powder that had levels of heavy metal in them (many of the other brands I’ve tried). These traces were mainly found in the vanilla flavored powders if you read the report. So i decided to go ahead and give it try. I’ve been using it for well over a month now and i really love this powder. It helps a lot with my recovery after workouts and it keeps my hunger at ease for hours. I would recommend this powder to people but you can research on your own about the heavy metal claims.

This is hands down the best vegan protein powder I have ever used. It mixes so easily, the taste is great (for a protein powder that is ?), there’s almost a month worth of servings in one container, and there are no ingredients that I’m uncomfortable putting in my body.
I use this as my post workout shake, just mixing with water in my Blender Bottle. My daughter likes to have hers with some almond milk. I also use a half scoop in my daily morning smoothie, and include two scoops in my homemade protein brownies.
The powder doesn’t have that artificial aftertaste that a lot of protein powders have. This tastes better than the Garden of Life chocolate protein powder in my opinion.
I also like that this powder is free of soy and sucralose, two ingredients that many vegan protein powders use to add extra protein and sweetness. I can’t use whey protein due to lactose intolerance, so this one pretty much is my go-to supplement. I’m willing to pay a bit more to make sure I’m not ingesting questionable ingredients, and this is the best protein powder I have found so far. I also like their vanilla flavor.
Not to be nit picky, but the seal that they have to protect the powder when you first open it is reminiscent of scratchy cardboard, and it gives me the feeling of nails on a chalkboard when I open the container for the first time. I’m shuddering just thinking about it. I would also recommend that they add a half mark to the included scoop and make the handle a little larger/longer, as I often get powder on my fingers when getting out the product.
I have this product on monthly subscribe and save, which makes things so much easier. I really don’t even have to think about replenishing my stock. Once I notice that my powder is almost gone, another almost magically appears in the mail the next day.

I bought the vanilla packets to have as a vegan source of protein for vacation. I found vega sport much better than any other protein power I previously tried (and I have had a lot) and wish I had ordered sooner. Although most vegan proteins are fine in smoothies and oatmeal, I have never had one that was palatable in almond milk. While I was finishing my old brand of vanilla powder, I ordered the peanut butter because it was new and I LOVE peanut butter. Again, vega sport did not disappoint! I often mix it into oatmeal, smoothies, or just almond milk. It is sweet enough to like the taste but the sweetness is not noxious or fake like some others I have tried. The peanut butter flavoring is not overwhelming but it is definitely noticeable. A con is that it is not super easy to mix. I can shake it in a mason jar with almond milk but after I will need to mix it with a fork- not the easiest to do at a gym. A blender ball may work though. Another con is that it is one of the most expensive protein powders out there. Nevertheless, I will order again because it is the best tasting and because this line is good for athletes.
