I’ve used this in my morning smoothie for the last few years. It went through a dramatic change awhile ago where they seem to have ground it into a finer powder. There are many review complaints about the chalkiness, but I don’t find this product to be any chalkier than other protein powders. I happen to like the taste and the finer grind.
This powder has much more in it than others I have compared it to. Many more types of sprouted veggies, probiotics, etc. It’s almost as complete as their meal replacement powder at a much lower cost.
I’ll keep looking but have not found anything else I like better so I’ll keep buying it and using it.

This is one of two plant based organic protein powders I use for shakes. After speaking to the company in 2017 to ask a few questions on proper usage, I was told by a CSR that this product is not meant to be made, stored in fridge, and drank later. The proprietary blend is intended for immediate consumption or the composition begins to break down and the nutritional value becomes lost. This information was repeated to me when I called again in January of 2018. Perfect, as my other product is meant to make and store for later. I wanted one for those unplanned “I need something now” moments Life so often presents you.
GOL Raw Organic Unflavored give you so many possibilities for your own nutrient needs: adding avocado, blueberries or other fresh fruit; MCT oil or not; cacao powder and/or cacoa nibs; liquid alcohol free flavorings like Madagascar Vanilla, Hazelnut, Almond extract (or whichever flavor you prefer); coconut flakes or pumpkin spice…endless combinations so much so you don’t get bored.
I use a stick blender and have never had a problem with the consistency when using almond milk.
Highly recommend it! Please keep in mind the company states the container is not filled to the top but filled by the volume advertised.

I spent a lot of time hunting for a protein powder I can take. I have so many allergies it is not funny. I unfortunately bought Meal Replacement from Garden of Life that has stevia in it hoping I would no longer react to the stevia. I was wrong. So back to the hunt. I came upon this product and started reading the one-star ratings. For those of us who have taken protein powder, we know it does not taste good. Especially if the protein powder does not have any flavors or sweetness or artificial fillers in it. We take it anyways because we know it is good for us, especially those of us very serious in the gym. Despite all the lengthy amount of complaints about this product, I bought it anyways, hoping as I did I would not be disappointed. I was not! As for volume, my canister when opened was about what I expected with a protein powder. As for the amount of servings decreasing, the amount of protein per serving increased, which again, those of us who are serious about our protein intake is a bonus. Those of us who are truly health conscious look for a product like this one, feeling assured we are drinking something organic in every way and wholesome. I honestly do not have any results yet as I only drank my first serving today. But all the hoopla I’ve read about this product made me want to write this review. It is SO not easy to find a quality protein powder that does not have whey in it. Thank you, Garden of Life, for making this product. Please ignore the complaints about this product if you are looking to buy a quality protein powder. I’m completely satisfied and highly recommend Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein Unflavored Powder to someone who understands what protein powder is and what it does.

I have read many of the negative reiviews, and frankly, I don’t think that they are being fair to the product. I did not purchase the old product. But, many of the complaints seem to be about the scoop being larger in the new box, and the box being larger. Easy fix- don’t use the full scoop. I don’t find the taste horrible at all, in fact, it even says it is unflavored. The big change I think is in the addition of the Branch Chain Amino Acids- something which the other reviewers neglect to point out- these are extremely essential- especially for those of us recovering from a brain injury. I for one, have noticed an immediate difference since starting to use this product. Not only am I gluten intolerant with a dairy allergy, but suffered a head injury as a result of a car accident. After using this product, I started noticing immediate benefits. And I believe it to be because of the additional branch chain amino acids that were not present in the old version. I also add some raw blueberries and drink mine with unsweetened almond milk and it is absolutely delicious!

I have purchased this over and over again, over the course of maybe 2 to 3 years now. Having a short background in nutrition makes me analytical and skeptical of so many products – but this one holds up in theory and in my stomach. This is the only protein powder that does not upset my stomach, and that, from a scientific and nutritional point of view, actually delivers nutrients and amino acids to the body without harmful byproducts, such as those that can be found in cesian or whey blends, like casonorphines. As someone who struggles greatly with stomach issues as well as a skin/acne concerns, I need to be very peculiar about what I put in my body.
Seeing that it is vegan and organic is a huge bonus, and seeing that it is raw helps me agree with the idea that the proteins are not denatured or broken down.
I always buy the unsweetened one, as some of the sweetened flavors have Stevia which does not always sit well with me.
As mentioned, very sensitive individual here.
The unsweetened is the best, I can put it into smoothies, sometimes I start a half of a scoop into a soup I am making, and although I don’t do this often, if I am making sweets or muffins I can throw a scoop in. I really love how versatile and nutritionally backed it is.
I have never written an Amazon review before, but this product deserves it.
