Being keto for a few weeks, I have gotten so used to non-sugar sweeteners that I often have to have someone take a sip of my sugar-free drink to make sure I was given the right drink as I can no longer tell if it’s “fake” sugar or regular sugar. However, I can definitely taste the fake sugar aftertaste on these cookies. Fittingly, these remind me of back when I was eating protein bars. If you don’t like fake sugar aftertaste and chalky, protein taste of a protein bar, then these cookies are not for you. That being said, they are a decent sweet if you are low carb and/or keto.

They’re not the greatest tasting treat, but what can you reasonably expect from a “healthy cookie”? From a taste/flavor standpoint I’d give them 3.5 out of 5 stars. From a texture/consistency standpoint I’d give them 5 out of 5 stars (they definitely “feel” like a soft, chewy cookie). From a macro/calorie standpoint I’d give them 4 out of 5 stars. They’re a bit high on calories considering they’re not very large in size, but they have a good amount of protein and they’re very low on sugar. Carbs are a bit high though so I’d dock them a star for that.

Well, I intended on taking a picture of the cookie for a review, but I ate that thing like a mom sneaking a cookie in the pantry while her toddler asks “what are you doing Mommy??” The texture was a lot like those soft-baked cookies in the red pkg (do they even still make those?) & It did not crumble or make a mess when I bit into it. It wasn’t quite as sweet as those soft-baked cookies, either, but it is a very close comparison for me. I couldn’t believe how good it was! And I still eat full sugar treats! I find reviews can be skewed as some people haven’t had sugar or carbs or whatever for like 9 months then they review a cookie. I would totally recommend these & am going to order the chocolate chocolate chip ones right now.

Straight out of the package these cookies are just a bit on the dry side. However pop them in the microwave for just 7 – 8 seconds and they become soft, almost creamy in texture and the taste improves dramatically.
I love that they aren’t too sweet, and I think they’re just fine without heating, but when warm and soft they. are. heavenly.
The chocolate chip flavor is my fav of the 4. I thought my fav would be the double-chocolate chip but in fact they’re a little bitter. I prefer FatSnax for a truly great keto, double-chocolate cookie.

I have been hooked on these things for a while. I’m not going to say that the flavor is exactly like a home baked chocolate chip cookie – it’s missing that brown sugary – buttery taste that those have but there is some thing there that really caters to my sweet tooth and offers a low carb option. Plus, it is hands down, the best texture for a low carb cookie I have found…I love a soft cookie! I’m not thrilled about the palm oil but I’ve done some research on soluble corn fiber and it seems to be a decent ingredient. I am talking mainly about the chocolate chip flavor here. I’ve tried the others and they just don’t compare. The Double Chocolate Chips are never as fresh and soft as the Chocolate Chip (texture is harder and more of a stale feeling), the Peanut butter has too much of that fake peanut butter Quest bar taste (even though it has peanut butter in it). The Oatmeal raisin however, is pretty good too.
The only problem with the chocolate chip flavor is the chocolate chips are notorious for falling out of the cookie when I bite into it. It’s frustrating because I’ve lost track of a few of them and they end up staining my clothes or what I’m sitting on so heads up!

Know how some “diet” drinks and snacks compared to the real deal they mimic just misses by a mile?
Quest Chocolate Chip low carb high protein cookie is a total home run! It has great color, odor, texture and taste.
Now to be really picky- it’s not Mrs. Fields…but it does have lots going for it. For a diet friendly snack or dessert, this cookie is quite remarkable!
The texture is slightly on the doughy side, but really that’s the only small thing I can notice that separates it from the full fat and full sugar cookie.
The most wonderful thing is the chocolate chips are sweet and creamy and chocolatey! It hits all the notes in your mouth that tell you it’s an indulgence! And the cookie is big enough for me to call a snack, especially when paired with a protein shake.
Thank you Quest!

I have been obsessed with these since they came out. Finally a protein cookie that isnt full of sugar. Chocolate chip and peanut butter are the best flavors so far. Oatmeal raisin and gingerbread are decent when the craving strikes. The double chocolate is a little dry but still edible, I never really buy them anymore though. I like these way better than regular quest bars. Soft and chewy, sweet enough for people who don’t have a huge sweet tooth. Great if you warm them up.
Now. On to the new addition in the family. PB chocolate chip. The texture is amazing. So soft and chewy. The closest one to an actual cookie. I was blown away. Until…the entire cookie was littered with large whole peanuts. Not chopped like the PB cookie. Texturally this doesn’t work in the cookie at all. I ordered an entire box, so I am now spending 5 minutes removing the abomination of nuts from my cookie. If the peanuts were removed this would be my favorite.

I am trying to live a low carb lifestyle, but I admit, I miss my carb-filled, sugary sweets. As any low carb dieter will tell you, most diet snacks end up leaving you with a mouth full of sadness.
These cookies, don’t. And that is a great thing for me. They’re moist, have a great texture to them, and really hit the spot when you’re on the verge of quitting your diet. I’ve tried two flavors now, the chocolate chip and the snickerdoodle flavors, and both are worth purchasing again. This far, neither has impacted my blood sugar or kicked me out of ketosis.
My only complaint is they have a faint aftertaste, most likely a result of the sugar substitute. Many are probably not bothered by this, but my taste buds are really sensitive to artificial sweeteners. All that said, the aftertaste is comparatively mild, and soooo worth it.
