I personally just love these vitamins, I always recommend them. They might not be the easiest to swallow, but you can’t really taste them! These are the only vitamins you need. The Rainbow Light Ones are one a day so you only need one, one and done, and you see what you’re getting, its a green tablet, they’re vegetarian. I had other issues at the beginning of my pregnancy with prenatal, I basically had to buy a bottle and toss it or return it(if possible) after a day or two. others would enhance morning sickness, or just make me feel yucky, issues, constipation, you name it. I found these in my first trimester and i never went back! But there were times where I would venture out and try even organic ones, Smarty Pants, like if I couldn’t find these and nope! Had to toss them and search for these, either at Rite Aid or here on amazon sometimes target. Even now, two years after having baby and Rainbow Light has me feeling good, I feel myself, regular***tmi**, energized the right amount, they’re a pleasure to take that I actually take them regularly.

This review is for my pregnancy five years ago. I took the old version with 800mcg folic acid but other than that the ingredients look the same. 600 is actually what is recommended for pregnancy and 400mcg for pre-conception. I took it for three months pre-conception (and all throughout pregnancy) and conceived first try. I felt great all the way up until my third trimester when I decided to get a genetic test through 23&me. I am homozygous C677t. I researched and found a bunch of advice from naturopaths saying to take Methylated or food-form folate (folinic acid). I switched to a methylated prenatal and felt like crap. Switched to a prenatal with folinic acid, still felt like crap. Anxiety came roaring back along with low energy. I switched back to Rainbow One because I decided to listen to my body instead of supplement-pushing naturopaths that use ONE outdated study that the own study’s creator said is no longer reliable to reference. All studies that have been done for folic acid (on mthfr homozygous women pre and post conception) show that FOLIC ACID is the most highly absorbed (due to being more heat stable) with the best results for all women,INCLUDING those with mthfr mutations. The CDC website states this as well. Please do your own research on deciding what form of folic acid to give your growing baby and listen to science. I only found out about the misinformation surrounding mthfr and folic acid a few days ago and realize Rainbow Light abides by what are clinically studied nutrients. I have a healthy daughter as a result of taking rainbow light before and during pregnancy. Last year I had a miscarriage as a result (of what I believe to be inferior forms of folate from other prenatals). I will be taking Rainbow Light’s women’s one upon receiving it, for life! Please do not take any of this as medical advice. Listen to your doctor and do your own research before listening to anyone without a medical degree, including naturopaths.

I had stop taking these because they were too hard for me to swallow. If you struggle with big pills, these are not for you. They can be cut in half but it was still hard for me to swallow. Otherwise, they are a good product from what I can tell. I haven’t been able to find OTC prenatal with iron that is easy to swallow. I have taken prescription prenatals that were easy to swallow, but never OTC. I ended up switching to a gummy and separate iron tablets.
