The True Strength of Whey
Whey Protein Isolates (WPIs) are the purest form of whey protein that currently exists. WPIs are costly to use, but rate among the best proteins that money can buy. That’s why they’re the first ingredient you read on the Gold Standard 100% Whey label. By using WPI as the primary ingredient along with premium ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate (WPC), we’re able to pack 24 grams of muscle-building protein into every serving. ON’s attention to detail also extends to mixability. This superior quality powder has been instantized to mix easily using a shaker cup or just a glass and spoon. There’s no doubt that this is the standard by which all other whey proteins are measured.
Beyond The Basics
- 77% Protein by Weight (24 g of Protein per 31 g Serving Size)
- Whey Protein Isolates (WPI) Main Ingredient
- Whey Protein Microfractions from Whey Protein Isolate and Ultra-Filtered Whey Protein Concentrate
- Over 4 Grams of Glutamine & Glutamic Acid in Each Serving
- More than 5 Grams of the Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine in Each Serving
- The “Gold Standard” for Protein Quality
Suggested Use
Spoon Stirred: Gold Standard 100% Whey is instantized. That means if you forgot your shaker cup or don’t have time to get out the blender, just add one rounded scoop of Gold Standard 100% Whey to a glass filled with 6-8 oz of water or your favorite beverage. Then mix it up with a spoon. Stir for about 30 seconds or until powder is completely dissolved. Tip: Adjust the taste of your Gold Standard 100% Whey by varying the amount of liquid that you use to prepare it. For a bolder flavor with slightly more body and sweetness, mix each scoop with 4-6 oz of water, milk, or your favorite beverage. For a milder tasting, less sweet shake, use 8-10 oz of liquid per scoop.
Shaker Cup: Bringing a shaker cup with you to the gym is the best way to get a dose of protein immediately after your workout. Just pour in 6-8 oz of your preferred beverage and then add one rounded scoop of Gold Standard 100% Whey to your shaker cup. Cover and shake for 25-30 seconds.
Blender: Add one rounded scoop of Gold Standard 100% Whey to a blender filled with 6-8 oz of water or your favorite beverage. Blend for 20-30 seconds. Then add 1 or 2 ice cubes and blend for additional 30 seconds. Shake Up Your Shake: By adding fresh or frozen fruits, peanut butter, flaxseed oil, coconut and other ingredients, you can make an even more delicious shake. Stack Your Shake: You can make Gold Standard 100% Whey an even better post workout product by adding supplements like creatine, glutamine, BCAA, and concentrated carbohydrate powders.
Think Outside The Glass: Gold Standard 100% Whey can be used for more than just protein shakes. Try mixing a scoop into oatmeal, yogurt, or the milk that you pour over your morning breakfast cereal. Better yet, increase the protein content of muffins, cookies, brownies, etc. by adding a scoop or two to your baked goods recipes.
Suggested Use: Consume enough protein to meet your daily protein requirements through a combination of high protein foods and protein supplements. For the best results, consume your daily protein allotment over several small meals spread evenly throughout the day.
Serving scoop included, but may settle to the bottom during shipping.

Tastes good, just keep in mind that if for some bizarre reason you’re like me and add it to your coffee, mix it thoroughly in the cold milk first. Mix up 8-12oz of it beforehand to add to the coffee and then maybe drink the rest later. If you put the powder directly into hot water, or already-made coffee, it’ll get lumpy and feel like you’re drinking powdery, curdled coffee. I made this mistake so you don’t have to. Sadly, it took me three cups over as many days to figure out what was going on. Make of that what you will.
Clone Number 3 –
I ordered the double rich chocolate (DBC), thanks to reviews indicating it did not use sucralose (and it does not as of 06/12/18).
I’ve never used ON before, I do not know if it “used to” taste better. As of 06/12/18 the DBC flavor tastes roughly like burnt brownie flavored cardboard. Thing is, I understand without a SUPER sweetener, it can be difficult to achieve flavor, but be forewarned, it is AWFUL tasting. Consistency remains almost the same as whatever liquid you have mixed it into (adds no extra thickness). I tried both water and milk.
On the positive front, it is jam packed with goodies with every scoop. It mixes extremely well (I use milk mainly) and when mixed with other powders, it continued to mix well (I add extra probiotics and stuff for my joints).
I let it sit for a few hours on the counter, everything settled and needed a slight jostle, but (aside from being warm) mixed right back up and tasted exactly the same with the same consistency, which is great as I have had powders that turn to sludge if you let it sit for too long.
For the price @5lbs and 30g scoops, you can’t beat it. There are better tasting powders and better powders overall, but you can expect to pay $50-$60 for 2lb for those, I find this powder to be an excellent middle ground if you can stomach it, especially with the prevalence of sucralose finding its way everywhere.
For those not in the know, please Google sucralose, it won’t bother everyone, but if you’re like me, it did affect my digestive system negatively and since removing it from my diet I have been doing much better.

I’m not a body builder by any means. I work out about three times a week and I use the protein powder for a post work out shake or for a quick breakfast. I’m not on strict diets or anything like that, so my review is from a regular joe who works our mostly to stay in decent shape and stay alive. The protein powder as a shake is pretty delicious. No weird aftertaste like many other powders, and it’s really filling. I’m sure most “pros” know all the tips but for those of you that don’t, it helps if you mix the powder with whatever liquid you prefer, I use soy milk, before adding ice. If you put everything in at the same time the powder gets clumpy. I don’t know why, but that’s been my experience. I use a blender not a shaker. Again, the chocolate malt is what I like and it tastes great.

I ordered the birthday cake flavor, and love the taste! I can be picky with protein powders like this, but it is just the right amount of sweet. It blends really well with a plastic ball in a shaker bottle, and i have not noticed the chunky “sprinkle” texture than some other reviewers have reported. Can’t beat the price either, this same product retails for at least $10 more in stores in my area. I typically shake one scoop with 14 oz of coconut milk or 1.5-2 scoops with 14 oz of water after a workout or as a meal replacement for lunch at work, if anyone is wondering.

Love this product SO much more than the previous one I was using. I’m low carb and I like to replace breakfast or lunch with a iced coffee/protein powder drink. My go to:
1 cup unsweetened iced coffee
1/4 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup
1 scoop protein powder
1 scoop collagen powder
A handful of ice
Blend for a few seconds and it tastes delicious, like vanilla coffee based Frappuccino
With the products I use I get 26 G protein 6 g fat 6 g carbs

This is a real, honest review from an everyday woman trying to lose weight. I know everyone is different. My experience is not advice, I’ve learned on my own by reading more knowledgeable peoples accounts and advice .. I needed a way to lose weight easily and simply. I suffer from ADD and it’s hard to stay focused on a plan or effort, I DO NOT take medicine for ADD. anyways, Im already wayyy off point. My diet consist of making small EASY changes : start walking and add small exercise as tolerable and managable. (Going “All-In” and to fast is a sure fire way to scare me off! Lol) Add a meal supplement to replace a few meals. I mix this Whey, half and half with SlimFast(I know I know) but it works for me. I’ve been losing alittle weight so that’s great, I’ll slowly incorporate more sustainable changes like eating more healthy and after some weight is gone we can add another actual MEAL of healthy food. It takes alot of dedication and determination and preparation to lose weight on diet change alone (just by eating better) and maybe I’m not as good at this as most of you are. I am trying my best to lose weight and out of desperation found my way here. Good luck and thanks to all the brilliant people who post meaningful advice online for people like me trying to find a better way to live .
(I’ve now tried both the Double Rich Chocolate, and French Vanilla Creme.) The Vanilla tastes just like melted Vanilla bean Ice Cream! I swear, it’s Unreal. And EPIC.
Double Rich Chocolate, is just as amazing, and even tho I’m primarily a ‘chocolate person’, If I had to choose only one, I would actually chose the Vanilla!!
Someguy –
Pros:
– Mixes really well and quickly with anything including a stick.
– Tastes like a milk shake even if you just mix it with cold water.
– Has very little sugar (1g per serving)
– Comes with a scooper.
Cons:
– The only con I found is that it does not taste as good at room temperature. So since my gym is like 3 blocks away from my home, I ‘wheyt’ till I get home to drink it heh.
Calm Heart –
I’ve used this product and its predecessor ‘Pro complex’ for over 20 years. I have easily spent over $20,000 on this product over the course of time. It is the very best. I go through a 5 lb tub every 2 weeks. Double rich chocolate is my favorite because it’s chocolatey but not too sweet. No aftertaste. Many of my clients prefer the exotic flavors. Product mixes extremely well. You can easily mix 2 scoops in 6-8 oz of water and the consistency will still be thin. This is a high-quality blend which is what you want. Why? Because blends digest at different rates much like a time released vitamin or time released medication would. It is also glutamine enhanced. I could go on and on but do your own research, read the label, read the ingredients, and you will still find this is the very best protein especially considering the price. Just a few side notes: for people who complain their protein gives them digestive issues: digestive issues with protein usually come due to being mixed with milk and / or being put into a blender creating air bubbles and swallowing cups of air. Never mix your protein with milk unless you know you can tolerate milk and you are okay with the added sugar. If you’re going to mix protein in a blender try doing so for only a couple seconds (unless you’ve added ice). I usually mix my protein with instant oats, essential fatty oils, and water. In that case I mix longer and then I drink it fast before it thickens. Product can be easily mixed by stirring I prefer using a butter knife as it sticks less. Or you can mix in a shaker with just a couple shakes. Add some ice before shaking for better mixing, plus the ice helps it last longer. I’ve referred so many people (hundreds) to Optimum Nutrition and this product that Optimum Nutrition should be sending me this product for free. I wish!
