Erythritol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol derived from a corn and is naturally found in small amounts in various plants, fruits and fungi, including mushrooms. It contains virtually no calories (95% less calories than table sugar), has a low glycemic impact, and doesn’t contribute to tooth decay. Basically all the bad things about sugar are absent in Erythritol, yet it tastes just like sugar and is about 70% as sweet.
Because you are what you eat, NOW Real Food has been committed to providing delicious, healthy, natural foods since 1968. We’re independent, family owned, and proud of it. Keep it natural. Keep it real.
Suggested Use
NOW Real Food Erythritol has a pure, clean, sweet taste and is the perfect natural substitute for sugar in many recipes. There’s really no need to use refined table sugar ever again.
Other Ingredients
Pure erythritol crystalline powder.
Packaged in a peanut-free facility that processes tree nuts.

Use Erythritol the same as you would sugar it is a really good product. I have tried other artificial sweeteners and they are bitter or leave an aftertaste in your mouth. This product does not do that. Well worth the $$$

Hands down favorite sweetener of all time!!! Absolutely no aftertaste…and no tummy ache like the others. Love it!!

Not much to say about erythritol. You either like it as a sweetener, or you don’t. This 2.5 pound bag is a pretty good bargain. I use erythritol to make my own (much cheaper) version of “Lakanto” by adding pure monk fruit powder and Pure Inulin (FOS) Powder to it. I think this recipe helps cut the sharpness of erythritol by itself. My recipe: 1 cup Erythritol + 1.5 teaspoons of monk fruit powder + 1/3 cup inulin powder. Mix, mix, mix! It does NOT measure spoon for spoon with regular sugar. It takes more of this mixture than of regular table sugar.

Doc beating on you for your blood Sugar? Saying things like “Pre-Diabetic”? But you love that morning coffee? Check with the Doc first, and try this substitute. Zero Glycemic Index impact. You’ll need a Little more than you used in “real” sugar, as it is slightly less sweet.
(Then get some blueberries, Almonds, cashews and pistachios, and maybe a little apple cider vinegar, and you r defense wall is being reinforced. 😉

This is nice for my Keto diet. It helps with my sweet tooth, which is very large. I wish it was more economical as I would like to use it more with my baking but its just too expensive to keep experimenting with recipes.

I like the packaging with easy reseal. I have used this product for a few years now and like it.

I use this alone in recipes but mostly for the homemade “Gentle Sweet” product. It’s alway great.
BOCAGIRL –
no after taste. Good for cooking and pretty good for baking. I use 1/2 sugar and 1/2 this when baking that calls for 1 cup or more.

I like that this sweetner can be added to fermented cider and will not ferment out. It does not add a destatsteful flavor. I don’t know if you can cook with it without losing sweetness, but for our use, it does not matter.

I am on ketogenic diet and don’t want to use sugar to make desserts. This erythritol meets my need. I use it to make all kind of desserts and they all tasted great. I am very happy that I find it from Amazon. I will continue to buy it in the future.

This is ok if mixed with another sweetener, but even then it is a risk. The “cooling” effect is actually a burning of your nose and throat. It is such an unpleasant feeling that it doesn’t matter what the taste is like. I currently mix it with monk fruit and stevia, but I’m going to give xylitol a try instead.

I use this product as a substitute for cane sugar and in cooking many Keto recipes. The one problem with it is that it does not seem to melt quickly with heat.

its easier and cheaper to buy this than to go to my local whole foods! always great quality and customer service. Quick and easy!

I love this stuff. Sweetens just right, no insulin spike. Perfect for keto and low carb food. No weird taste, just a bit of cooling that you get used to.

Started the keto diet a couple of months ago, that’s how I heard about this product. I can’t really tell the difference between this and sugar. Compared to Splenda and Sweet’N Low this sugar replacement makes everything taste amazing and not different than if you would’ve used real sugar.

I have been living a pretty strict Keto lifestyle for several years. I still crave sweets, but I am happy with the Keto treats I can make with erythritol, stevia, and Swerve. Swerve is pretty expensive, so I try to use this instead when I can. I am very happy with how it tastes, but some non-Keto eaters don’t enjoy the “crunchiness” of it as much. If we are making a desert for non-Keto people, Swerve is the better choice.
