I purchased this to do home-made pest deterrents for the corners of my house and in the closet on cotton balls. It’s supposed to be effective against ants and maybe moths. Some people mix it with witch hazel, lemon oil, and eucalyptus for DIY buy sprays. The oil smell in the house faded fully after three days.
I didn’t have a bug problem so I cannot say if it’s effective or not for that, but I felt better after doing it.
The oil seems normal to me and I trust the NOW brand.

I combine, for my diffuser, water, Cedarwood with Patchouli oils, to create a scent that conveys an aromatic vibe of outdoors and leather.
On I side note, I should add that I also use EOs by NOW topically and orally, for everything from health to flavoring drinks. I’ve researched and spoken with the folks at NOW, and their products are every bit as good as those produced by multi-level organizations who claim that using anything but their products is tantamount to poisoning one’s self. These people invented “fake news.” Not that their aren’t lesser quality or even dangerous products on the market. But NOW EOs are safe when used in the same sensible fashion as oils from the much higher priced MLM organizations. Another great, safe, reasonably priced brand is Edens Garden.

I love this scent. To me it’s refreshing while still being relaxing. It’s a bit musky but still fresh. I’ve always liked the scent of cedar. Of course, if combined with certain others, it’s reminiscent of the holidays and I will be making my own mixes for that purpose. I add a few (about 8) drops of this in my bottled hair conditioner to counter the effects of ingredients my scalp doesn’t like. But my favorite use is to dab a bit on my chest before bed for a relaxing aroma to help me fall asleep. An advantage of this over others is that this one doesn’t drive my cat away if he decides to sleep near the head of the bed. 🙂 If I’m slightly congested, I will add a couple drops of eucalyptus. Most people consider eucalyptus more of a refreshing or energizing aroma, but I love the two of them together. They work for me, but may not for others.

I am a big fan of the NOW Essential Oils and have posted several reviews about them. Every time I purchase a new one I am reminded why I turn to this brand again and again for their consistent performance and good value. This Cedarwood oil has that great woodsy scent to it with a little bit of a sharp edge that is great when diluted in fragrances. Not to mention that the packaging is so user friendly while also protective of the product.

Excellent oil for making flea/tick repellent. It has been a banner year for ticks and living in the woods I had a plague of them. I sprayed the path from driveway to house with this and they actually disappeared in just a week.
Make sure you dilute it, never full strength especially to the skin. I mixed it in a 1 quart spray bottle with about a tablespoon to a quart of water and a few drops of Dawn dish detergent to emulsify and it was ok on the path and pet bedding ~ but too strong for putting directly on pets, had to dilute to less than 1/2 teaspoon per quart…someone dumped a kitten on the road and he was covered with fleas, I put this tblsp/quart dilution on the back of his ears where he could not lick, it repelled the fleas and ticks but made the hair fall off. No inflammation, just bald ears which re-furred quickly.
A combination of cedar oil, pennyroyal, and eugenol mixed and diluted with a teaspoon each per gallon of water and mixed as above is excellent for use on pet bedding and the front fiberous doormat to repel pests, fleaflies and bloodsuckers, and is all natural, has no poison. (Shake well before each use)
