It’s good. Ill buy it again.
My first cup I could taste the dehydrated mushrooms a little but after the first cup that flavor goes away. Kind of how (if you like kombucha) the first time you taste kombucha you may not like it, but then it’s ok or even good after your first time. I would buy it again. I would even make it my every day cup. It’s instant coffee and each pouch only needs 7oz of hot water. Cream and sugar work well in it but I drink it black. Only thing is it’s spendy, so I would buy whatever quantity had the best value.
That’s my review. ✌️❤️

I have no idea if there will legitimately be any real benefits to ingesting these “super-“mushrooms in my coffee, but what I do know is this: they taste good, and they leave me less jittery than regular coffee. That could be just the result of drinking slightly less coffee in my coffee, but either way, it satisfies my craving for coffee and it tastes good. Well, at least the “create” variety with Lion’s Mane & Chaga and the “achieve” variety with Cordyceps & Chaga taste good — the “hack stress / adaptogen” one with Tulsi & Astragalus takes a little more getting used to. If “Create” is Mushroom Coffee 101, “Hack Stress” is grad level, and I have no idea whether it’s worth powering through.
The other reason to feel good about these — and particularly the way they’re packaged, which might otherwise be a drawback — is that they’re great for travel. On the road and at conferences it’s not always easy to get a really enjoyable cup of coffee but you can usually track down hot water. Now that I have developed a taste for this coffee, it’s nice to be able to have a consistent cup of my favorite coffee pretty much wherever I go.
If I’m getting any health benefits out of it too, then so much the better.

I had been eying this in the store for a few months before trying it, then finally bought some to take on a climbing/backpacking trip. I had bought a bunch and still had some left after getting back and I started noticing an improvement in my workouts on days that I drank this instead of regular coffee, so I now purchase it on Amazon ( for half of what the store charges).
It definitely has that instant coffee taste, that doesn’t really taste like coffee. (Not a bad think for someone that does not really like coffee or sweet drinks). Honestly I tend to just chug it down like an emergen-c drink. It does mix decently well with cold milk.
I drink this before climbing – kind of as a pre-workout) and really notice a difference on days that I drink this vs. do not. It helps me focus and think about the problems to move gracefully though them rather than muscling my way to the top to just get there. My technique has come a long way in the last couple months with the help of this stuff. I don’t ever notice a caffeine buzz or anything, but I don’t get frustrated as easily after drinking it so I definitely think there is something to it- even if it is just a placebo effect.

This stuff is awesome. Caffeine is tricky for me; a lot of times with coffee if I don’t spread out my consumption over an hour or more, I go from tired to jittery mess in a split second, and back down just as fast. I’ve never felt jittery drinking this mushroom coffee. Also, whereas regular coffee seems to send my energy to where I don’t need it while I’m working, this stuff really does seem to focus its powers on my brain. Could be the power of suggestion, I don’t care, because whatever the reason, I’m way more focused with this stuff than when I’m on regular coffee.
That being said, it’s not entirely true that, as many reviewers state, it tastes just like coffee. That’s certainly not to say it tastes bad, I would take this stuff over your average cup and it’s far and away better than any crap coming out of a Keurig. The best way I can describe it is earthy.
But I repeat, if you use coffee for any job where your brain is working harder than your body, you HAVE to try this stuff.
Reviews w/Booze –
First of all, this is a Reviews with Booze item. Basically, we find/buy trending products from a major website that creates a lot of “Buzz” on your “Feed” and then we make a fresh cocktail and tell you what we think while we drink. Nobody pays us to try products or compensates us in any way for buying and trying it (yet anyway). Will we blow up and be featured on some QVC or As Seen On TV product, most definitely, but it won’t be from Mushroom Coffee.
Let’s start with the good. Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee does have antioxidant properties, if that’s what you’re into, so a definite plus. It’s diet friendly. What I mean by that is for vegan, paleo, dairy free, keto diets, you can enjoy this coffee. Taste isn’t bad, but definitely doesn’t taste like mushrooms at all. I added 1 packet of Splenda and half and half to mine, and it smelled almost like hot chocolate, almost I said. After about 10 minutes of drinking Four Sigmatic, I actually enjoyed it very much.
Now onto the not so good. Initial smell and taste didn’t go so well. I felt as though it had to breath a little bit to smell better and I had to get used to the taste. If we are being honest with ourselves, we all didn’t like our very first beer or cup of coffee. It kind of reminded me of that, but I warmed up to it. Caffeine level is lower than a regular cup of coffee by roughly 50%. I definitely didn’t get my regular pick me up from my morning coffee while reviewing this. Price, that’s the ultimate kicker. I cannot justify paying the up-charge for mushroom coffee when my diet doesn’t restrict me. Should I need an alternative, I would definitely consider. However, the price doesn’t justify the purchase for my situation. I’m happy with my regular cup-o-joe.
Now, in for our YT channel review, I drank this each morning for one week before work. Only had one cup a day and didn’t have any other coffee for that day. I didn’t share my thoughts about it with my wife. She tried it while recording our review for our channel, so if you’d like to see her thoughts, please feel free to look us up. You might even discover a new cocktail when you find us.

So I listen to JRE a lot, he has been talking about this stuff for a while. I bought some and it is really great coffee. It is super easy to make in a rush all you need is 7oz of hot water. It has good flavor to drink black or you can combine it with creamer. I personally like to combine it with Laird Superfoods Creamer. Overall this is a great product.

I was watching My Self Reliance on Youtube and saw this guy knocking off a big brown growth on a birch tree, grinding it up and brewing it like coffee. Chaga. I thought “ What the heck is Chaga?”, which led me to this concoction. I’ve been drinking half caf anyway since my heart was doing flip flops on Starbucks. Thought I would give it a try since I read something about antiviral and good for the brain. At 67, I need all the help I can get. Amazingly and no joke, after 3 days of drinking a packet a day, my memory improved. Suddenly I was meeting people and remembering their names and I could remember a series of 6 or 7 numbers that were texted to me that I needed to change passwords without going back to the text after two digits. I know these seem like small things but I was a bit blown away by it, placebo effect or not. So for me, the shroom coffee is da bomb.

Absolutely the best for brain function adhd Irlen Syndrome anxiety! It calms me down and I take on the world normal without an adrenaline rush my mind is clear and my thoughts are different rather on autopilot my creativity doesn’t go away but gets better and happiness comes from that! I’ve tried Thrive LeVel, elevate happy coffee, essential oils, adderal Prozac, you name it I’ve had it and this stuff by far is the best mostly because it just makes me feel overall zen I would say which I’ve never had before and also I’m still talkative and not in a hurry which is the best part. Most medicines reduce your creativity and talking where this accents it! If you had great ideas before wait til you try this! It’s the perfect study buddy for projects or everyday life! I am a barber and have to keep my momentum up all day I usually drink some energy drinks or coffee every two hours this stuff lasts to where you don’t need them anymore! So it saves me money in the long run and everyone is asking what I’m doing. As a multi tasking overwhelmed mom this is what you need! I do add it to my normal coffee because I like that as well. But my house is no longer chaos it’s zen and I’m focused on what’s important and able to prioritize. If that makes since rather than getting destructed by 3 kids.

Uh i have no idea who Tim ferriss is or whatever, but i found these on thrive market in 2016 and had never heard of or seen anything like it before. I LOVE these coffees so much and they’re so easy to make! I can’t drink a lot of caffeine so i only use one packet at a time, add my honey and creamer, and my vanilla ghee and boom you’ve got an amazing cuppa! Fyi, these aren’t made in the bay area and have literally nothing at ALL to do with the bay area. The makers of this company are from Finland! So nice try on being funny the person from lame Portland. You’re just really ignorant and clearly self centered. I’m into following my own path instead of listening to some stranger on a podcast tell me how I’m supposed to live. I can figure out what’s good and what’s not on my own and i am capable of being my own individual. Anyway these are the best coffees and the medicinal mushrooms have literally saved my life. They have helped me control my seizures and MS and shortened my down time after a huge ms exacerbation that left me bedridden. They really do work. If you don’t normally drink your coffee black, then why would you drink this black? Make it the way you want to and would normally make a cup of coffee. Lol also if it’s not enough mushrooms in it, you can purchase them individually at much higher doses and are very strong. My ONLY complaint is that they are really high priced and i had hoped that by this point they would have dropped in price a bit but i guess not. They’re way cheaper on thrive market though.

Let me start by saying I have adrenal and thyroid issues that I treat naturally by living a cleaner life after years of unknowingly abusing my body. I should not drink coffee tho I desperately neeeed the caffeine. I changed to morning tea once I found out about my health issue but that just doesn’t feeeeel right since I’ve been doing morning coffee for 25 years now. This does feel right! It’s too pricey so I only allow myself one packet a day and all I add to it is collagen by Great Lakes. I love the taste. It does taste like coffee to me only smoother with less after bite. I’m delighted that this is an option for me and I love the individual packets for traveling and keeping track of how much I’m consuming. I did try the other mushroom coffee with the red writing on the packets, that one was not for me but this one is. I honestly prefer the taste and feel the same energy from this as a regular cup of coffee tho I know this is being much kinder to my already depleted body….

I should start by saying that I value my time and tend to go the path of least time-commitment when it comes to eating. Enter the BlenderBottle Classic Loop Top Shaker. It’s not the easiest lid to pop shut, so make sure you really push down until it’s closed. Otherwise you’ll be cleaning up a big ol’ mess. Assuming you can do that part right, it does the job of blending protein drinks perfectly. That brings us to parts two and three; Chocolate-flavored Molk from Jocko and Four Sigmatic with Lion’s Mane. I’ve had a couple runs (13+ miles) where I’ve capped it off with the protein powder coupled with the instant coffee over water. What a perfect combo! I tried the protein powder by itself with water and it was missing something. I didn’t want to go with milk, so instead I grabbed the coffee out of the pantry. Usually runs of this distance in July and August will leave me drained for hours and in need of a nap but grabbing some fast protein and a smidge of smart caffeine takes away all the usual post-run drag. If you’re looking for a way to liven up your post-run mornings/afternoons, this is the way to go.

This coffee really does work! I must admit I was very skeptical.
I have been using this coffee once a day (in the morning) now for almost two weeks. I find my focus and concentration to be greatly improved. No jitters. Just a feeling of calm and being locked in for hours.
I find it t be priced very well. I use it on workdays only. So, for about $1.25 a day, you cannot beat it.
Awesome product!

I love this product and was excited to try a different flavor however upon opening the box I noticed that one of the packets was opened and leaked all over the rest of the packets. This is the first time I’ve had and issue with this product.
peteyrocks17 –
When I first receive it. The box says chaga only. No cordyceps and chaga which I thought I bought. Got me worried, I thought I was ripped off lol but than I read the Ingredients it did have cordyceps. What a relief, I heard this stuff from Thomas DeLauer and Tim Ferriss. I was skeptical at first. While I was laying in bed sipping on this product before work in the morning. A few sips in, I can feel every body part waking up little by little. What a great feeling! It felt like a stimulant. Not like a pre workout where your heart is beating fast and you have the jitters, but more of an extra energy to kick off your day. I felt great the whole day. I feel like this works better than coffee and faster too. No bitter taste, like coffee does. Very mild taste. A splash of Stevia is how I have it. Felt more clarity in the mind. Had good energy for a few hours. Didn’t know it was relating to the mushroom coffee or because I’m on keto… Haven’t tried it with my keto bulletproof coffee yet aka fat coffee. Looking forward to it. I can’t imagine what great things will happen when this product is mix in. Probably I’ll get wired from it. But overall, I like it. It works… Can’t wait to try the Lion mane and chaga coffee one. I’m hooked, planning on buying more in the future. I already suggested this to my coworker the other day. Good stuff.

I’ve tried three of Four Sigmatic’s adaptogen and mushroom coffees, and this is the best-tasting one. It tastes mildly spicy and almost cinnamon or nutmeg-like–really nice! I just think all these products are too dang expensive to use consistently as more than just a trial. I found cordyceps to be stimulating, lion’s mane to be creativity-inducing, and this one to be a little calming/stress-relieving, which is nice in combination with something like caffeine. I think lion’s mane is overall my favorite. I recommend this product as an experiment to see what you like, but, once you figure it out–buy a bag of it and mix it with your own coffee. That’s what I’ve done, and it works just as well.
M. Armendariz –
Tastes mostly like cheap instant coffee.
My best friend and the lady at the health store absolutely love this stuff. At first, I wasn’t going to try it. Period. Because who pays a dollar or 2 for a teeny package of instant coffee? And the packaging is so wasteful! I think they package it like this because if you saw 10 servings in a jar, you’d never buy it!!! The jar would be the size of a small pill bottle. But when I found it for LESS than a dollar a packet, on sale, at Amazon, of course I tried it.
To be fair, I like the product ok. I don’t get jitters or stomach upset like I do with regular coffee. It is nice to be able to drink it since I have had to switch to black tea for my daily caf hit. I think the nootropic effect of the mushrooms is there, but very small because the servings are just so tiny.
I’m not sure if I’ll buy it again, or if I’ll keep looking for a low-acid half-caf coffee that is less expensive and packaged more responsibly (like Mommee Coffee- yes, you can drink it even if you’re not a mommy). I might invest in some cordyceps powder, too, since that is cheap by itself, to mix in there.

I’ve been following research surrounding culinary mushrooms for about a year. I originally got into them by taking Host Defense, but felt that they were priced a little outside my comfort range. I originally started buying Four Sigmatic Lion’s Mane and Chaga Coffee from a local grocery store in the single packets (priced about $1.79) so buying from Amazon saves a little money.
I recently gave a pack to my 78 year old Grandmother who suffers from slight dementia. Upon consuming the coffee she immediately perked up for the rest of the day and I saw a noticeable improvement in mood. I realize this is n=1 (or two if you include me), but the results were encouraging. Obviously I would recommend doing your own research on culinary mushrooms before committing to adding to your diet, but I will say that I’m impressed by the amount of scientific (NIH published) data that is out there surrounding Lion’s Mane and the neurological benefits.
One thing that I do find myself a little lost on is the benefits of fruiting bodies vs. mycelium. Other supplements use grown on grain mycelium (the stuff under the ground) and Four Sigmatic uses fruiting bodies (the part that grows above ground). Lots of debate on the net as to what has the most benefits, but I usually just try to get myself a fair bit of both.
