Ascorbic ACID is the regular vitamin C and it is an acid.
Ester c is NOT an acid. It is basically alkaline which is better for your health that acid. I have taken it for years. I take a 500 mg capsule each morning. I highly recommend it over the plain ascorbic acid vitamin C
