While this is a step-up from Body Fortress and Nitro Tech in terms of quality, texture, and taste I find this flavor is lacking when compared to the Chocolate flavor offered by SYNTHA-6. I look forward to trying more of this excellent product!
The Toan Ranger –
Taste great so it’s not it such a chore taking in your protein. I take it first thing in the morning and right after a workout, times when you need immediate protein! Been using it consistently for the last 3 years and never even thought of switching to another brand. We can’t eat steaks all the time so make sure you have your supplements in between meals and make sure you get one that actually tastes good!
Samantha Thode –
I bought this because it was one of the more highly rated flavors of protein powder out there. Those ratings were right — this stuff tastes amazing with (almond) milk. You still know you’re drinking protein powder if you drink it with no other add-ins, but it’s not gross like many other powders. I can’t speak to what kind of results it gives because I’m unfortunately inconsistent with drinking it.
J.Money –
I have tried every single protein powder out there and this is the ONE that I go back to over and over and over again (there must be crack in this)… Buy this, you won’t be disappointed. Recommended flavors are: Peanut Butter Chocolate, Banana, Chocolate, and Strawberry in that exact order. I actually get two tubs at once and mix 1/2 peanut butter & 1/2 banana, tastes like heaven!

I’m an athletic/average college student. I’ve tried many protein brands, and this the best tasting and most nutritious one I’ve ever had. It comes in a bag with 97 servings, that’s a lot of servings. It instantly blends with milk or water and tastes like a milk shake, no need to even use a blender. It tastes amazing. It doesn’t have that thick protein whey powdery taste other brands have. It can also be used as a meal replacement, it has essential amino acids, protein, fiber, and I use this as my breakfast every morning mixed with a glass of unsweetened almond milk. I’m definitely going to buy this product again, I just hope that maintain the same price point. Other than that, this product is great tasking, very nutritious, satisfying especially hunger, and is helping me build lean muscle. This product is a great part of my fitness routine. So glad I found this product on amazon!
Jake Alanis –
Great tasting and easy to mix protein powder. I mix it with 8oz of water and it tastes very much like a chocolate shake.
After about a week, I noticed an increase in my strength (I also starting using creative at the same time, so it could be that), and started bulking up more. I feel like it also helped with my muscle recovery, since I was sore for a couple days longer before using this.

This product definitely did the trick all right.
I bought this product with the intention of helping me gain some muscle and overall not look like a spooky skeleton on the wrong side of town. Let’s just say it worked but I’m one shake away from a coma.
It started with me a having a shake after work/gym and it was helping me meet my caloric intake as well as my macros. Then I started having a shake too as a snack. One thing led to another, and I started having it with every meal. Now it’s the only substance I intake and I approximately have 27 scoops a day with water (Gotta stay hydrated!)
Solid foods is so 2020 and now my Wife’s BF gotta move me around on a wheelchair now. Serves him right for not letting me stay up late on a Thursday night!

I came across a lot of reviews stating that the taste had changed and that this protein powder wasn’t as good as it previously was. Since I recently started working out again, I was able to finish the rest of the previous tub I had (probably about 5+ years old), so I could have a fresh comparison to see if the comments were true or exaggerated. Unfortunately, they were indeed true, the taste is quite different. I wouldn’t say it’s “disgusting”, it’s not that bad at all, still pretty good, but the previous formula was even better when mixed with milk. It’s a bit of a disappointment, but the new taste has grown on me.
M –
The banana flavor is so delicious, especially in the mornings. I used to hate eating breakfast, but now I’ve gotten into the routine of making a morning protein shake. I purchased another brand’s Banana flavor and it definitely didn’t compare to this one. Syntha’s formula is definitely superior to any other brands I have tried. The flavor is very creamy, smooth, and even with water, it tastes great. With almond milk, it tastes like HEAVEN. I highly recommend this because although it is a bit pricey and normally that would deter me, this is SO good I am willing to spend money on it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Luis –
The product is good, but it doesn’t taste natural at all (heavenly processed). Is not a bad taste, is just not natural. But for the price, 22g of protein per serving (It contains a total of 48 Serving per container) is a good deal. Downfall is that is a bit high In carbohydrates and Cholesterol for a protein shake. Also, it has 1g of added sugar (not good). I would suggest 1 to 2 scoop per day, no more then that. I notice When you take this right after a workout, you feel recover very fast, so is good if your interested in recovery quickly, which will lead to quicker gains, depending on your workout intensity and diet.
I suggest you get this as a spare protein shake, not your main protein shake. Get this for when you run out of your main protein.
I suggest you get a protein shake that’s more natural and simple, like muscle milk, get it with 0 added sugar (and most of muscle milk contains vitamins and minerals, so that’s a plus). I notice that prepare protein shakes are much better then powder protein shakes. Another good protein shake is “Pure Protein” Vanilla flavor but make sure you get it prepare version, not the powder.
Overall, is good.
Alex –
The quality of the powder is good. But then again, if you use any protein powder and workout/eat properly, you’ll see good results. The biggest let down I had with this was the FLAVOR. All the people who said the flavor was amazing must’ve been high. I ordered the cookies and cream because surprisingly it had less sugar than the vanilla, plus why not. If cookies n cream in ur mind taste like sugar and milk-water, this is def the flavor you want. (Can’t speak to other flavors.)
P.S- the scooper is prob towards the bottom of the container. (Gives the appearance that there’s more powder than there actually is.)
Armando Hernandez –
I really don’t understand the comments people are giving. I’ve been using this product since the beginning of 2017 so I’ve been using it both before and after the label change happened. It tastes the same to me and still super refreshing after a intense workout. I will say I mainly use it with water and not milk, I personally think that its way to sweet with milk so water is my preferred way. I even make peanut butter protein shakes with this and they taste amazing! (I only buy the chocolate btw). Product is great and to be honest I’ll probably keep buying it for a long time until I see an issue. I even re-use the big containers to store other food like beans and rice!

I’ve tried soooooo many powders…
-JYM
-Quest
-Skinny Girl
-Premier
-Ideal Lean
-Body Fortress

Y’all, the list is LONG!
They ALL have a taste … a texture … either weird or stomach turning!
Syntha?
I literally drink it with like 4-6oz of water! WAAAAAATER!
Never ever could I do that with any other brand/kind.
I personally love the strawberry &/or chocolate MILKSHAKE! There are several of the Synthas that have chunks of stuff in it like the cookies & cream. No thank you! Can’t do the chunks haha. But these milkshake kinds blend sooooo smooth. And by blend I mean I put 4-6oz of water in an already used water bottle, add a scoop of syntha with my plastic funnel, put the plastic lid on and shake it. That’s it!
Great protein intake the easy way!
And yes, it’s 200cals but seriously … worth it if you’ll DRINK IT! And

I add it to my breakfast veggie fruit smoothie to help make it more sustenant so it keeps me full until lunch. Nice chocolate flavor and it mixes well with frozen fruit and vegetables and just a little water. Not gritty at all. I think it’s actually helped me build lean muscle since it’s the only thing I’ve introduced into my exercise routine and diet and I’ve noticed I feel better and have good muscle development. I like it a lot! I always get more when I run out.
Anthony C. –
This stuff tastes so good it’s hard not to drink it when you haven’t worked out. I prefer to blend mine up for the smoothest quality. I will say, don’t make the mistake I made and try to make your own portions. When I first opened mine the cup for scoops had been submerged under the powder and I had a tough time figuring out the right portion size until I found the scoop.
TS –
This powder is GREAT, it’s the best tasting whey protein I’ve tried. It also mixes really easily. Other lesser protein powders can be clumpy and chewy. The syntha-6 powder all mixes into a great drink with little effort.
I’ve tried cookies and cream and it was good but you get little pieces of cookie at the bottom of your glass that you can’t seem to get to. The strawberry is my favorite though. It’s a subtle but delicious strawberry flavor.
BTW ignore the other reviewer that said it raised her husbands cholesterol level. She has no clue what shes talking about. Studies show that everyday consumption of whey protein significantly lowers bad cholesterol. I’ve been using this whey protein for a year now and just had my blood work done, my numbers are great across the board!! I know everyone’s body is different but there are multiple factors that can attribute to his increased cholesterol numbers. Blindly blaming one product for the cause of bad health is just wrong…

I love this product. I have normally been buying chocolete Whey powder and it only ever tasted good in milk. This water tastes fantastic in water. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have been drinking it now for a couple of weaks and I feel like it gives me energy. I am not very hungry after I wake up and uually hve to wait for a couple hours before I am able to eat anything. However I drink this protein mix instead and have no stomach problems after wards and I end up feeling energized for my day.
Lyndsey –
Holy crap this is delicious. I am extremely picky about protein powders and I have gone through so many to try and find ones I like. This is definitely a top choice. I got the banana and omg it is good. It tastes like a banana milkshake no weird aftertaste, no fake sugar taste, just delicious. I tried it with milk in a shaker bottle and it was amazing. If it’s this good with just milk I can’t wait to experiment putting other add ins in it.
grand-poobah –
I take this protein blend before bed with milk. Taste was not amazing like most reviews on here say it is. It was a 7.5 out of 10 for me. But still good. I had zero digestion issues after consuming. Protein blended easily with milk and left no residue in the bottom of my shaker cup. BSN protein tub has an outer seal and a scoop inside. Just lift heavy weights, try to eat
as much whole foods as possible(minimize processed food), sleep at least 7-9hrs a night, take your protein(1g-1.5g per pound of bodyweight), and you will see results in the gym. You will not get any muscles from consuming this product alone without resistance training. This is just a supplement to help you reach your recommended protein intake for the day. Ex: I weigh 200 pounds. So I need to take in a minimum of 200-300 grams of protein a day. Most of your protein should come from whole foods. So if I get around 160 grams of protein from my daily meals, then I need to get 2 scoops of this protein(22grams per scoop) to hit my 200-300 grams a day mark. Although, I only take one scoop(22g protein) of BSN protein and that’s at night. Right after my workout, I take whey isolate protein from my favorite brand(Animal by Universal Nutrition-24 grams). I included six pictures in this review. I recommend this brand because of how easily it mixes with milk or water, and it gave me no bad digestion. That’s all. ?️?
Steve Sherk –
I’ve taken Syntha-6 on and off over the years. I haven’t tried the other flavors because the Strawberry flavor is really good and I just stick with that. Pretty smooth after mixing in a shaker. Nice blend of protein that caters to slow and fast digestion. The cholesterol level in a serving is the only negative thing that seems to be a little high, but I imagine a healthy adult who’s not taking massive amount of this protein daily would be just fine.
Tyler Moore –
I always try and read the reviews if they’re available. And for this product, I read a lot of mixed reviews. Well, here’s mine: LOVE this product! I only ever take 1-1.5 scoops for a
dose. I always use a shaker with ice added. So flavor and blending is good. Doesn’t make me jittery, just provides enough Go to get the job done. I usually take this supplement at work. We have a full gym and I use it on my break. So not only does it give me energy for my shift, it gets me through my workouts! Also read a lot of reviews saying people had instant diarrhea from this product? Not me. Great Product! Everyone needs to remember that each person is affected differently by the same products! LOVE BSN!

The Peanut Butter tastes good. I normally do chocolate in protein powders but a review mentioned the PB as being good and so I tried it. The powder also mixes pretty well.
The con for me, which I was a little concerned about, is that I’m not a big fan of artificial sweeteners in anything. The reviews on this product are good and so I thought I’d give it a shot; but the artificial sweeteners just don’t jive the best in my system.
I am trying Vintage Braun – with mulitple protein sources – now as well. But I have to say, I am finding whey only powders wotk the best for me, pre- and post-workout, as well as pre-bedtime.
Jayme –
Ok… so I’m chubby and tiny, meaning that I need protein powder that is meant for weight loss for tiny people. The calories in one scoop are only 200 calories! Me being chubby, I can honestly say that protein drinks suck. They don’t taste good. This one does. I’m not getting paid for this review, I just want to help other people like me who were looking for a supplement to help their workouts. SOOO… what I do to make it more bearable, is a bought a personal blender thing. I put ice, water, bananas, peanut butter, and the chocolate protein powder. I blend it and it tastes delicious! Try it.
My kids' mom –
I have tried many, many protein / meal replacement drinks over the years and felt like I had to “settle” with all of them. Either they clumped, tasted bad, were crazy expensive, or were not effective. I LOVE Syntha-6 in Chocolate Milkshake. Each serving keeps me feeling full for about 4 hours, tastes absolutely delicious both with milk (breakfast) and water (lunch, for convenience), and blends beautifully and quickly in my blender cup. I have been buying it for several months on Subscribe and Save and hope they never get rid of it! Amazon has the best pricing I’ve found on it.
Note: the container is HUGE and the scoop is bigger than other protein drinks. But I compared the ingredients with others and am very happy with these. This is a low-calorie, low-sugar drink and is high-protein and fiber. It does have carbs so if that’s an issue for you, it may not be the right choice. But for me, this is a great blend of ingredients.
The Griblet –
I’ve been using this product for 5 years now and they have a consistent great taste my go to is chocolate but even when I get tired of it strawberry is right there to switch it up for me. It’s easy to mix no large chunks of protien left in your shaker. I lift 7 days a week and I need something to look forward to at the end of my work out. I bought cheaper protiens before they just weren’t worth it. No nasty protien farts from this one for me that was a problem with cheaper products.
Kevin Mendoza –
Okay, I must admit, I originally got this since I started going to the gym with my sister and I wanted something to help me build muscle. I read the comments that the “strawberry milkshake” flavor tasted like heaven and it does! I recently stopped going to the gym because of school, but I still drink this (even though I shouldn’t) with smoothies or just plain low fat milk.
Buy this. You won’t regret it.
BestBuy –
According to a lot of fitness YouTube channels, if a protein powder gives you diarrhea its an indication that it perhaps has some low quality ingredients. Please take the amount of protein and divide that by the serving and if the number you get is above 80% it means it a good product (bc it has at least 80%) protein in there anything less and that means the company is fooling you by throwing garbage ingredients in there such as maltodextrin (which is basically sugar and other ingredients) stay in school kids.
KBM26 –
My husband has been taking this protein powder in his morning smoothie for months now. It keeps him full until mid morning when he eats a fairly large snack. A week ago he had blood work done and it came back that his cholesterol numbers were all high including his triglycerides. Hes always been fit, now that we’re older he eats pretty healthy, runs a few times a week (1.5-2 miles), and his waist to hip ratio is in the “good” range BUT heart disease runs in his family. So I’m not sure if this protein powder is necessarily to blame (hence the 3 stars) but it definitely doesn’t help that the cholesterol is so high and the ingredients include triglycerides.
I’m not an expert in cholesterol, I just wanted to point this out to anyone else that may have heart disease in the family. It’s not worth the risk. Without the blood work we wouldn’t have known.
I’ve switched our subscribe & save to a natural, plant based protein and will update later to see if things have changed.
Good luck to all of your on your quest in finding a good quality and affordable protein powder. For us, this wasn’t it.
Dr K. –
I find flavor an issue with protein powders… no doubt, for me, the strawberry one is great mixed with milk and over three months still appealing. So I continue at least daily. I find skin, ligaments and muscle strength improved comparing trainer led muscle strengthening over three months, say, before and after while overall weight unchanged.
