I started taking these a month prior to when we ended up conceiving. They are big and taste very sour if you leave them on your tongue for too long. I haven’t been hit with horrible morning sickness yet, so I can’t say how tolerable they will be. For right now, I am happy with them and I love they wholesome ingredients inside. This is the best price I have found anywhere.
Mortar Wife –
I ended up without these for 7 days and by the 4th day I was feeling absolutely exhausted. I hadn’t changed anything else in my diet, vitamin, or breastfeeding routine and I was falling asleep mid-day. I ordered again Sunday and they just got here (Wednesday) which makes shipping a bit long when they should’ve been 2 day Prime, for that reason I’ve deducted a star.
JustMe –
As long as you’re not a cry baby about swallowing pills like most of the women on here then you’re fine. I thought these were easy to get down, smell is fine, and they definitely helped boost me through pregnancy. If my child is a genius I’ll give them another 5 stars .
Jw –
It really works wonder. I did not have any morning sickness, no cravings, no negative pregnancy symptoms like headache, moodswing, etc. I believe bec of this prenatal vits. I felt the same before i was pregnant except my tummy kept growing. Me and baby were both healthy. My hair stopped falling out while taking this. But once i stopped taking this bec im done breastfeeding, one week later, my hair started to shed a LOOOOTTTT again. I believe in this product.

I love these vitamins because they are the only ones that don’t make me throw up. It’s such a relief to actually be able to eat and not loose weight while pregnant. Despite loving the vitamins I have to give them a 3 because I’ve ordered these bottles twice and each time there were 59 tablets instead of 60. At first I thought maybe I took an extra one one day so I ordered again and counted. This sucks because you’re supposed to take 2 a day and on the last day you can only take one. -_-…..really? I know that’s something minor but it’s really annoying.

I did research on the best prenatal vitamins and ultimately decided on these. I took them throughout my pregnancy (all 41 weeks) and had a perfectly healthy baby boy (23 inches long, in fact!). The nurses also all exclaimed that I had the healthiest umbilical cord they had ever seen—they were literally holding it up for other nurses to have a look. No clue whether it had anything to do with the vitamins, but I’ll definitely take them throughout my next pregnancy. Yes, they are pricey, but you only have to take two pills and I get them tax free through my health savings plan. They are big and don’t taste great, but well worth it. Never once made me nauseated either.

While I cannot say that my daughter and I are healthy because of these prenatal vitamins, I did start taking these prenatals along with a prenatal DHA (because these pills do not have DHA) when my husband and I started planning to conceive. My daughter is now four months old, and she is very healthy, well adjusted, and mentally alert. I plan to continue taking these vitamins until I stop breastfeeding. I have read that it is recommend to take folic acid *before* you conceive, so start taking prenatals now – if possible – if you are planning to become pregnant. I am happy with my prenatal choices, I just wish they were less expensive.
SB –
This is by far the best multivitamin, and I feel like I’ve tried them all. It is really easy on the stomach, and I like that it’s made from real food. Taking 2 pills seems annoying in the beginning, especially because the pills are big, but you get used to it and it is SO worth it for such a great vitamin.
Amazing Customer Service –
This is probably one of the best food based vitamins out in the market. We did a ton of research deciding what goes in and this was the winner. It is certainly on the expensive side, but the difference was easily noticeable while I skipped couple days waiting for a new bottle.

I did a lot of research like many other to-be moms out there. I ultimately chose these because of reviews, price, 2 tablets instead of 3, it was designed with the scientific knowledge that calcium was omitted because it interferes with the absorption of iron which made me feel it wasn’t just marketing a product but actually putting out a quality product. This means you should take these vitamins at a desperate time than any additional vitamins, minerals or supplement pills because if it’s all in your stomach at once, those additives can interfere with your body fully absorbing all this prenatal is meant to offer (I have a doctor in the family). There is also a great deal of debate in the medical world as to whether you should have herbs or probiotics in prenatal vitamins – there is not conclusive evidence or studies to rule out dangers of these so I preferred ones without. While the tablets are large, they are wide like a one-a-day women’s multi vitamin but thinner (not domed) so I find them easier to swallow than say a fish oil or the multivitamin. I’m not vegan so this wasn’t a deciding factor but the fact that it was derived from natural sources was the basic requirement of my search. Be sure to take calcium during a separate time of day, which protects your teeth during/post pregnancy though some doctors don’t feel it’s necessary – I have a history of teeth problems so chose this route. Baby sucks up a lot of calcium for bone growth so the extra will support YOUR needs! The last thing you need is a dentist visit while pregnant or breast feeding! Also, like many others, I plan to also purchase DHA (though most physicians will tell you a fish oil supplement or specific fish in your diet will suffice). Do your research and decide what’s important to you! I’m using affordable fish oil before TTC but once I start the process, will switch to DHA

I’m not pregnant, but I’m taking this for the vitamins and as pre-conception. You take it twice a day. They are a little large and have a little bit of an off putting taste, but the taste doesn’t linger, so that’s okay. I usually take them with food and do not get nauseous at all. I have taken them without food and still no nausea whatsoever, so that is great.
This does have 5000 IU of vitamin A, which is not recommend for pregnant women; however, because it is from beta carotene from carrot, from my basic research, I believe this is fine for pregnancies.
I also like that it’s an organic option, and it always seems to pop up on the lists of the top prenatal vitamins to take. Although, I read that you may need to take a separate calcium & DHA supplement too if pregnant. This is not medical advice, just what I read online. Check with your doctor!
My hair also stopped shedding as much. Not sure if it’s these vitamins, but I’ll take it!

We went through several different prenatal vitamins on our journey to finding the right one. Our priorities were #1 – that it contained Methylfolate (Not folic acid which is synthetic and not easy to absorb for many people), #2 – natural ingredients as much as possible without a bunch of extra herbs that have not been tested thoroughly in pregnancy, #3 – did not taste or smell horrible.
This product has more to exceeded our expectations. We are on our second bottle, and both have been bad taste/smell free and, while the list of nutrients is shorter than some other brands, we are very happy with what it has. Based on the research I have done, this seems to be one of the best prenatals available for the price. It has not caused nausea which was a major problem on the last one we had. Also, only having to take two tablets is easier than having to take three each day.
One item to note: this prenatal does not contain DHA. If that is something you want, you will have to try an additional supplement.

I was taking the multivitamin of this same brand, until I got pregnant and then of course I switched to this. My sister had taken this and seemed to like them so I decided that would be my choice too. I was very sick during the first half of my pregnancy. And I began to notice that everytime I took these that I just got really nauseous and it lasted all day.
My midwife recommended I stop taking these and got me on a different prenatal vitamin. Turns out I had a hyperactive thyroid…and taking these (which have thyroid support) was making it worse.
Soon after I got on my new vitamins I noticed a change right away.
I don’t blame this vitamins for making me sick. It just so happens that I didn’t need the extra support and didn’t know it at the time. My advice it to make sure you know what your body needs before you buy. And if you notice a trigger afterwards, stop and find the solution, it will be worth it.
I have now had my baby, and I do plan to try these again and see if they will effect me the same. The other vitamins are way too expensive.

This pill had great reviews from other blogs and on Amazon so I tried. Have been trying to get pregnant for a while, have taken my full month supply (one in AM one at night) and am ordering another bottle. No baby yet but I’m hopeful
Flavor isn’t the best but … it’s a vitamin. Packaging came great and on time.
Stefane –
How do you KNOW for sure a vitamin is working? Well I’ve been following the keto diet while preparing for my next pregnancy. Not a lot of leafy green etc. so I went and had my blood tested. Doctor said my B-12 and folate were perfect. That’s had to be from the vitamins. My iron was low. So I need to supplement but I think I’ve just always had low iron. Just thought I’d share that these pills made my levels good. I took the Raw prenatal from garden of life for my first pregnancy but heard a lot of bad things about them since then. I like that these have choline. That to me means they are COMPLETE!
Daisy –
Didn’t help with my low platelets or anemia. I had previously taken the Baby and Me prenatals for my previous pregnancy and had low platelet counts so with this pregnancy I had seen this Baby and Me 2 would help more if you have anemia during your pregnancy. I tried it and didn’t get a different outcome the levels stayed the same as my previous pregnancy and I actually this time was also diagnosed with anemia as well. I still liked the vitamins and recommended this brand. They are a little difficult to swallow and sometimes I would get a little nauseous afterwards but nothing extreme.
Nina –
I’ve been taking these vitamins for the last 3 months because they were recommended as a hair growth aid (I cut my hair very short last winter and am anxious to grow it quickly).
I have no interest in having kids at this point in my life and was certain that I was infertile after failed attempts to conceive in my mid-20’s.
Yesterday I found out I’m pregnant for the first time and I can’t think of any other thing that I’ve been doing differently than taking these vitamins (I smoke cigarettes, drink fairly often, not the healthiest eater). So yeah, it’s not great considering my situation but I highly recommend this for those TTC.
JB –
Excellent prenatal vitamin. We did extensive research on which prenatal to choose, and this is hands down the best one. I’ve always had problems with nausea when taking prenatals but not at all with this one. Yes, there is a little bit of a vitamin taste when you put them in your mouth, but it instantly washes down with whatever liquid you’re taking it with. Highly recommend!!
Krysty Condon –
I was taking a different vitamin for the beginning 8 weeks of pregnancy as well as while trying to conceive and had no issues. About half way through my 8th week the nausia hit me. I read that capsule pills can be harsher on the stomach because they dissolve quickly and hit your stomach all at once. So I tried these thinking a solid pill would be better because they’d dissolve slower and they’ve worked like a charm! Will definitely continue taking these for the remainder of my pregnancy and post natal!
mommyof3 –
I started taking these with my 3rd pregnancy, and have continued with them through breastfeeding. I switched from Garden of Life. I didn’t have any complaints with my previous brand, but decided to try Megafood instead. I have had no issues with these. The pill size is reasonable, in my opinion. Although those who have a hard time swallowing pills or are currently dealing with morning sickness may encounter an issue. I take the daily serving of these (2 pills) along with the Nordic Natural DHA.
Merritt L. Tongen –
Quite honestly I wanted to love this product. Overall I do feel it to be a great prenatal vitamin with lots of research completed and safe for use. Unfortunately, I itch between my breasts and under them CONSTANTLY while taking this vitamin. I haven’t yet been able to pinpoint what is causing my reaction but when I stop taking them, the itch goes away. Last pregnancy I thought it was just hormones and took this religiously. This time I’ve figured it out early and am sadly having to try other prenatal vitamins in lieu of this product. Hopefully this review helps others if they’re experiencing similar issues.
Stephanie Hoffmann –
Used these my whole pregnancy and had the best pregnancy ever, not much symptoms. Healthy moma healthy baby. FAST labor! Yet again it could always be each person is different but I did extensive research and these were the best also have to buy DHA apart of these! Also I recommend drinking the pink stork 1-2 months before delivery. I had a 5 minute delivery lol so MAYBE it was these products IDK but worth a try!
Lilly Smith –
I really like these prenatal pills. Good quality ingredients, but quantity is never right. This is the second time I bought them, and the number of vitamins hasn’t been accurate. Hoping third bottle is the charm, since I ordered two this time. This bottle should have 60 vitamins but there was only 57 and a half. I first only saw the half and was like, oh it must have broke in transport, but there was not another half of the pill in the bottle. So I counted them because last time, I was shorted. It happened again. This sucks. I may have to try another prenatal next time. Even though I really like these.
Vita Marks –
I don’t like the after-taste or sour heartburn that comes later and I have stomach issues from these. At first, it was hard to tell for weeks from where my stomach was hurting and I was running to the bathroom, but now I know for sure it’s from the vitamins.
Kindle Customer –
I started taking this vitamin abouy 4 months ago. During my pregnancy I had blood drawn that showed high levels of iron in my blood. I already had normal iron levels prior to taking this vitamin, but since the absorption level with this vitamin is so good it made my levels high. High levels of iron is unheard of during pregnancy, so if you are looking for a vitamin that will boost your iron this is definitely the one for you! Just becareful if your iron levels are already normal to begin with.
Emily –
At my 2 month and postpartum visit, my OBGYN’s PA said that I didn’t need to continue taking my prenatal (I should have researched my questions further). After 6 months without a prenatal, my babe is in the 98 percentile and I have felt like the walking dead: low energy, frustrated, emotional, pale skin, etc. After starting this prenatal, I’m starting to regain my strength and look and FEEL healthy and nourished again.
Tamara Mauldin –
I love these vitamins because they have less iron in them than the cheaper prenatal vitamins I was getting from my provider; the cheaper ones left me horribly constipated. I chose these because they are a while food supplement and they seem to have actually considered the way vitamins and minerals behave in the body. Since these do not have calcium in them I paired them with a calcium-magnesium supplement; which I take at a different time of day to avoid the possibility of the calcium preventing full absorption of the iron in the prenatal. I feel confident that the whole food vitamins are more bio-available and I don’t have any trouble swallowing them. Highly recommend to those whose “regular” prenatal vitamins might be gumming things up, although, as with most things, your mileage may vary. It’s certainly not the cheapest option, but in my mind it’s worth it to provide for mine and my baby’s health.
Pomona Gold –
Used these my whole pregnancy. Never got a stomach ache, felt great my entire pregnancy and all my bloodwork came out great the entire time. The pills are big so if you have issues swallowing that could be a problem. Also if you let it sit in ur mouth there is a taste- but that is normal IMO. I recommend these and they are worth paying extra for. No need to go cheap for ur baby:)
Juan Jose –
my wife started with these ones and they are great… everything she and our baby needs! We bought it for pre and postnatal use.
So clever they didn’t add calcium because of the absorption of the iron, and also they are kosher with a very high quality process!
ps: iron flavor is one thing my wife doesn’t like too much but she says is not a big deal
Summer G –
These are really high quality prenatal vitamins and I want to love them so bad. I have purchased 5 bottles so far and they worked really well for me until I started getting morning sickness at around 16 weeks pregnant. Every time I would take these pills, I would immediately vomit them up. I tried eating before, eating after, changing what I was eating, taking only one. They seem to be okay if I take them just before bed but they are quite large and taste sour which makes them hard to swallow and easy to forget about. I switched to gummy vitamins for the majority of my pregnancy and haven’t had any issues with those. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and decided to test out these vitamins again this morning. I did my usual morning routine but subbed my gummies for these ones. About 2 hours later I started feeling that same nauseous feeling. It’s unusual for me to be nauseous at this point in my pregnancy so I’m pretty sure it was the pills. Since I haven’t found anything better than these, I’ll probably test them out again after baby comes.
Jyeager –
I’ve tried several multivitamins during my pregnancy but they all made me nauseous except this one by MegaFood. I don’t love the flavor but there’s no way any one can make a vitamin taste better without artificial ingredients. Besides that I love these vitamins. I noticed I had more energy, was in a better mood, and even my hair started looking healthier after I started these. I highly recommend trying them.
Lucas –
These pills don’t contain DHA (omega 3/fish oil) which I didn’t realize I needed until 28 weeks pregnant. My doctor failed to tell me I’d need an additional supplement when she looked at these pills/the ingredients so I’m just now finding out. These pills are great but you will need to take an additional DHA supplement in conjunction with this prenatal. Hope this helps and you don’t find out in your third trimester like me 🙂
Erica Robyn –
I started taking these in anticipation of starting a family and they have been wonderful so far! They don’t make me nauseous, which many other vitamins do. Even on an empty stomach these vitamins are totally fine for me! I also love knowing that they are made from great, natural ingredients! I highly recommend them.
Gabrielle Millares –
I highly recommend this product. I use this throughout my whole pregnancy and also during breastfeeding. All the vitamins and minerals in this is from naturally derived sources. Normal vitamins on the market make me nauseous (I think this is because they have folic acid and not folate like this product), these vitamins do not make me nauseous. I prefer this one to the regular baby and me because you only need to take two pills a day and it doesn’t have all the additional herbs which I just take through t anyways. I suggest this to all expecting namas and breastfeeding mamas.
Benjamin G. –
It’s hard to find a supplement that doesn’t go overboard on some vitamin or another, and when they do a good job at that it seems like they’re mostly packed with extracts and essences of this or that. The price is a shame because it would not be that hard to just leave all the extras out of your offering… but nobody does it. This vitamin comes close, so I have to give them props.
Rose B. –
I’ve been taking this Megafood prenatal throughout my whole pregnancy, and for a while after. Super happy very with them. This is great if you’re looking for a prenatal with methylfolate. I actually started out with the normal Baby & Me then switched to the Baby & Me 2, because it wasn’t entirely clear to me if the Baby & Me had active folate, plus I decided I’d rather not have the extra herbal stuff in it. They never seemed to bother my stomach!
Le Pan –
I did a ton of research into prenatals and ultimately this is the one that looked the safest/healthiest.
I’m 15 weeks pregnant and on my 2nd bottle. I’ll update my review as I get further along in my pregnancy cause I think that’s important to help other moms to be.
I had a 15 week follow up and decided to see a nutritionist as well to make sure I was getting enough necessary vitamins.
-My iron levels were reported to be great! These prenatals don’t have a ton of iron so I was worried but paired with healthy eating there’s nothing to worry about.
-There’s no calcium but that’s a GOOD thing. Calcium BLOCKS iron absorption which is SO SO important. To work around this I bought Calcium/Vitamin D pills(600mg. 2 servings) and take ONE pill a day, preferably at lunch with dairy. Based on my diet I was already getting at least half if not all my needed calcium so I only needed to take a calcium pill on days I wasn’t eating as much dairy.
– I counted my pills. Both bottles had the correct amount(120 in my case)
– There IS a lot of cotton in the bottle. Leave it in there! The cotton will prevent moisture build up which can cause mold growth. This is just a personal observation/opinion but the cotton is there for a reason 🙂
– I didn’t have any issues taking them(gag reflex etc) I only ever faltered swallowing if I was really full/ ate too much as I always take my prenatal after breakfast and dinner(I like to think it’s going to absorb better that way)
-there’s no DHA but you can easily meet the recommended amount by having 4-8 ounces of fish a week.
So far I really love these prenatals. My first trimester I had no morning sickness but had a lot of food aversion and lost my appetite! I had no interest in food(especially grilled meats) so it was really difficult/worrying in the beginning if I was getting enough vitamins and such. I feel like these really helped a lot, especially during the first trimester. I’m not perfect and there’s days where I don’t eat a fully balanced meal(something I’m now trying to balance my carbs/protein in each meal after seeing my nutritionist now that my appetite has returned!) and I feel like these have really helped fill in any missing gaps.
My nutritionist even had this prenatal on her list that other patients were taking and she had nothing bad to say about them :). I think the Baby and me 2 is better/safer as it doesn’t have all kinds of herbal ingredients which it was recommended to me that you really don’t want to take medicinal herbs while pregnant.
I hope this review helps ease others worries. I’ll update this again around my 3rd trimester(might see nutritionist again once I’m further along) or after birth 🙂

This is the best prenatal vitamin out there! I’ve been a supplement buyer/consultant for years and this performs the best with customers, and personally! You can take it on an empty stomach, it doesn’t make you nauseous, and if you have a hard time swallowing pills you can crush it up and mix it with juice. They are also one of the only few companies that is 100% whole food based, so what you are ingesting your body happily absorbs.
Amy –
I take these as a postnatal while breastfeeding and they do us both real well. Gentle on our stomachs and from the research I’ve done, contain most of the necessary vitamins and minerals needed while breastfeeding. I take calcium, vitamin D, and omega-3s with them. These were also found to be the lowest in lead and arsenic among prenatals.
Kyle D –
My wife has taken this supplement during the pregnancy and during breastfeeding for our first child and the results have been spectacular.
Our son is much smarter than his peers. He is a master builder with blocks and his he says more words than I do and he’s 2.
He is also the most handsome child anyone has ever seen. He was doing the “Blue steel” as he came out of the birth canal. Amazing.
Very happy with the results of this supplement! Five stars.
Hannah H. –
I took these vitamins at the end of my first pregnancy, and took them again throughout my second pregnancy and so far while breastfeeding. I’ve never had an issue, but I found what looks like a moldy capsule in my most recent bottle. I’ve requested a replacement and hope to not have a similar issue!
Jay –
I’ve been taking these vitamins for almost three years. I love that they are made from whole foods and do not contain any pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. I used to purchase the original Baby & Me but switched to the Baby & Me II because of some controversy surrounding the safety of consuming the herbs while pregnant and the price tag. A bottle of Baby & Me II last two months which comes out to about $25-$27 a month.
