Blood sugar controlling pills

Increasing health education and almost adequate information about diabetes leads to early diagnosis of these patients and therefore these patients need to know more about their medications.

Physicians may have less opportunity to provide appropriate information about these patients’ medications. Diabetes is caused by the body’s inability to produce or use insulin.

Insulin is a substance that is produced in the body by the pancreas and causes sugar, or in other words, the most important source of energy in the body to be used.

Diabetes occurs in two main forms: insulin-dependent diabetes or type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

These pills will help you to control your blood glucose.

When should the pill be prescribed?

Diet, weight loss, and physical activity are the most basic principles of treatment for type 2 diabetics, and if blood sugar is not controlled after a few weeks, treatment with oral pills may be needed. Keep in mind that taking pills is not a substitute for diet, and you still need a good diet and regular physical activity despite taking sugar pills.

How do oral pills control blood sugar?

Note that oral pills are not the same as insulin and do not contain insulin. These pills are used in people with diabetes whose body is still making insulin and can lower blood sugar levels in the following ways:

1- Helping the body to release more insulin into the blood
2- Facilitate the entry of sugar into the cell
3- Reducing the production of sugar in the liver

Are oral pills enough to control blood sugar?

Oral pills are used only in type 2 diabetics whose blood sugar is not controlled by diet and physical activity.
The best therapeutic results from taking oral hypoglycemic pills can be achieved only when doing all the regular physical activity, following a proper diet, and losing weight if necessary.

Taking oral pills does not mean stopping regular physical activity and not following a proper diet plan, because in this case, using these pills alone will not help.

Do oral pills have side effects?

Oral pills have few side effects, but like all medicines, they must be taken with caution. Your doctor will prescribe the most appropriate oral pill according to your physical condition.

How does weight loss help control blood sugar?

Obesity is an almost common factor among people with type 2 diabetes. Obesity causes cells to become resistant to insulin, resulting in impaired sugar tolerance. To lose weight and bring it back to normal, better control your blood sugar.
